Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a self-defence martial art and combat sport that uses grappling, ground fighting and submission holds. So what does Jiu-Jitsu mean literally? Japanese jūjitsu (“gentle art”), also spelled jujutsu, also called yawara, form of martial art and method of fighting that makes use of few or no weapons and employs holds, throws, and blows to subdue an opponent.

From the earliest levels, students are encouraged to practice their techniques against resisting opponents in a safe environment.

This experience makes it among the most effective of all martial arts in terms of self-defence. The techniques you can learn in BJJ are highly effective for taking down a single opponent, controlling them, and convincing them to give up through submission and chokeholds
